Leadership

Staff and Elders

"Care for the flock that God has entrusted to you. Watch over it willingly, not grudgingly—not for what you will get out of it, but because you are eager to serve God. Don’t lord it over the people assigned to your care, but lead them by your own good example."
1 Peter 5:2-3 NLT

Lead Pastor

I grew up in Kitchener and attended Country Hills Church most of my life. I met and married Stephanie while attending E.B.C. and graduated with a Bachelor of Theology. I met my wife Stephanie at Bible College and we have been married since 1995. We have 3 wonderful children – Alyssa, Kaitlyn, and Wesley. I enjoy music, playing guitar, reading, spending time with my family, and I’m always up for a good challenge. I grew up at Country Hills Church and my family started attending at the very first service in 1984. After serving in 2 other wonderful churches I came back as Associate Pastor in January 2007. Beginning in October of 2012 I have had the opportunity to serve as Lead Pastor. I am so excited to be able to serve at Country Hills Church and being a part of the life adventure with our church family and community. I truly believe in the mission of our church and believe that God isn’t near done working in us and through us as we grow and introduce more and more people to Jesus

Worship and Outreach Ministry

Music and worship have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I obtained my Bachelor of Music degree in 2007, the same year Amos (my strong willed and fearless partner) and I were married. Since that time, I have been on staff at two other churches. Amos and I have four children: Grace, Klara, Benjamin and Ian. Life is a blessing and an exciting adventure!
My prayer and desire in ministry is for everyone to worship God in the unique way that he has created us to, that we will never leave a service the same as when we walked in and that we are constantly growing in love and knowledge of God.

I am wife to Jeremy and mom to Alyssa, Kaitlyn, and Wesley and mother - in law to Alyssa's husband Alex. We have been attending Country Hills Church since 2007. I have enjoyed serving as a youth leader, Sunday School Teacher, and Nursery Coordinator. I am passionate about the Church, and specifically Country Hills Church and it’s role in helping individuals and families grow in their relationship with Jesus and live out their faith in the communities they are planted in. I am thankful for the many leaders and volunteers who have invested so much time and prayer into the lives of our kids and our family, and have made Country Hills home for us.

Growing up can be tough and seem very confusing and lonely. We need Jesus. He is our only hope of making any sense of the life and eternity. I love Jesus and am so glad I get to walk with him every day. I lived in Collingwood for 10 years serving in full time Youth ministry.  It is an adventure following Him! My husband, Darryl and I have been attending Country Hills Church since we moved here in December 2012. We have four children: Josslyn, Eli, Meeka and Aly.

My husband Ron and I have been attending Country Hills Church since we moved to Kitchener in September 1989. Our 4 children, Rhonda, Dan, Melissa, and Joel grew up through the youth ministries at CHC. They are all married and we have 8 grandchildren.
Ron operates a company called Charitable Solutions Inc. which has its office in our home. I assisted him in the business when it first started, and since I my retirement from Conestoga College, I am assisting him again.
In my leisure time, I enjoy reading, gardening, needlework, writing, and going for walks.
Over the years I have volunteered in a variety of roles, including Children’s Ministry, at CHC. I am part of Country Hill’s Tumbleweed Book Discussion group, and Ron and I are co-leaders of a Small Group.
Ron and I thank God for Country Hills Church. Over the years, Country Hills Church has been for our family a source of spiritual growth, encouragement, fellowship, and prayer support. It is a privilege to both benefit by, and share in, its ministry.

I grew up in Waterloo Region and my wife Debby and I returned to the area in 2019 to be closer to 4 of our 5 adult children and our (now!) 5 grandchildren. We immediately felt at home and welcomed by the Country Hills Church family and have enjoyed getting to know people through Small Groups. I have been a Christian since my late teens and have been privileged to serve in various ministries over more than 40 years including church Board leadership, Finance committee involvement, children and youth work, Small Group and marriage ministries, as well as being a part of a worship team. I am a recently-retired Professional Engineer, with an education in Chemical Engineering and for 27 years I worked for a large global company where I was a Product Manager of engineering software. I enjoy spending time with my wife, especially hiking outdoors, and I enjoy fishing, reading and of course being a grandpa to our grandchildren! I am humbled to serve as an Elder at CHC and I am excited by what God will do.

My husband, Jim, and I have 3 adult children and 2 grandsons. We have been attending CHC since 1992 and have been involved in various activities and committees over the years. I recently retired from my 33-year nursing career and I’m happy to have some extra time to be more involved at CHC. I enjoy various outdoor activities, such as golfing, cross country skiing, and fishing, and I look forward to being able to pursue them more in my retirement. I also enjoy doing jigsaw puzzles, canning and preserving, and learning to play Pickleball. I am humbled by the opportunity to serve as an Elder at CHC and I look forward to seeing how God will move in us, individually and as a church family, in the coming days.
